Sadie Jaffe

Sadie Jaffe (Applebaum), 94, of Cranford died Dec. 15, 2012. Born in Newark, she lived in Irvington and then in Springfield from 1958 until 2009, when she moved to Cranford.

Mrs. Jaffe was the former head teller for the National State Bank of Elizabeth for over 15 years. Later she worked for her husband, Ludwig, as well as her brother and her sons in their businesses.

She was a member of Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael for over 50 years, a life member of Hadassah, and the past president of the Newark chapter of the Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (ORT).

Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gary (Erica) of Cranford and Marc (Nancy) of Bedminster; and two granddaughters.

Services were held Dec. 16 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
