Ruth Steisel
Ruth M. Steisel (Meyerson), 94, of Summit died Feb. 1, 2016.
Mrs. Steisel had been the chair of the math department at Vailsburg High School in Newark before retiring almost 30 years ago. Previously she had taught math at Arts High School in Newark for over 30 years.
Predeceased by her husband, George, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Sara and Bernice Steisel, both of the Boston area, and a niece, Cindy Schnabel of Springfield.
Services were held Feb. 3 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
