Ruth S. Benson
Ruth S. Benson, 88, of Interlaken died Sept. 18, 2011, while staying with her daughter in Israel. She moved to the Shore area in 1950.
Mrs. Benson was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist in the Asbury Park School system for more than 30 years and a member of NJEA.
She was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel, Temple Beth Torah, and the JCC of Greater Monmouth County. She was an active member of Shore Area Hadassah.
Predeceased by her husband, Jacob (Jack), in 1986, she is survived by her daughter, Carol; two sons, Daniel and Jeffrey; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 20 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
