Ruth Morvay

Ruth Morvay, 93, of Millburn died Oct. 6, 2015. Born and raised in Newark, she moved to Millburn over 65 years ago.

A founder and executive board member of the Millburn Retired Educators Association, Mrs. Morvay was a second-grade teacher at South Mountain School in Millburn for over 25 years.

She received a master’s degree in education from Newark State Teacher’s College (now Kean University). 

She was an active member of Brandeis National Committee.

Predeceased by her husband, Leonard, and a daughter, Judith Morvay-Bridges, she is survived by a daughter, Roslyn Morvay; her son, Steven (Paula); five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

Services were held Oct. 9 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
