Rose Monyek
Rose Monyek (Zeidwerg), 84, of West Orange died May 11, 2014. Born in Glen Ridge, she lived in New York City, Elizabeth, in Rahway for 45 years, and in Springfield before moving to West Orange four years ago.
Mrs. Monyek worked as a bookkeeper and Avon sales manager.
Politically involved, she ran for several offices and won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Congress in her district.
She had been a member of Temple Beth Torah of Rahway and Ohev Shalom of Colonia.
Predeceased by her husband, Albert, she is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Glenn) Small of Edison, Cindy Monyek of King of Prussia, Pa., and Chana (Michael) Gruber of Livingston; and two grandchildren.
Services were held May 13 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
