Rosalind Schaeffer
Rosalind (Roz) Schaeffer, 98, of Topeka, Kan., died June 29, 2018. Born in raised and Newark, she lived for much of her life in Livingston before residing in Hollywood and Hallandale, Fla., for almost 30 years. She moved to Topeka several years ago.
Mrs. Schaeffer taught for several years, leaving teaching to raise her family and ultimately working in the physical therapy department at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. She also worked as a personal shopper for luxury stores in both New Jersey and Florida.
She graduated from South Side High School, Newark, and received a teaching degree from Newark State Teachers College.
Predeceased in April 2017 by her husband of 74 years, Jerry, she is survived by three sons, David (Bobbi) of Topeka, Peter (Liz) of Nantucket, Mass., and Kevin (Pat) of Roseland; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 6 at Topeka Jewish Cemetery.
