Robert Richer

Robert “Bob” I. Richer, 70, of Monroe Township died Sept. 7, 2014. Born in Manhattan, he also had resided in Wantagh, NY, and Aberdeen.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Richer was a salesperson for ADT in Totowa, where he worked for many years. Most of his early career was as an operations manager for Michelin in Edison.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War as a communications specialist from 1967 to 1969.

Predeceased by his first wife, Robin, in 2002, he is survived by his wife of five years, Marsha; two sons, Seth (Rachel) of Fanwood and Daniel (fiancee Nicole) of Middletown; his mother, Lillian Becker Richer of Massapequa, NY; two brothers, David of Farmingdale, NY, and Mark of McLean, Va.; a sister, Eve of Baldwin, NY; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 9 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
