Robert Lowenstein

Robert Lowenstein, 95, of West Orange died Dec. 8, 2017. He grew up in Newark and resided in the same home in West Orange for over 64 years. 

Mr. Lowenstein joined his uncles in the family furniture and interior design business, L Lowenstein in Newark. In 1952, the business relocated to Millburn, where his daughters Dorrie and Margie worked with him until 1992, when they formed Design Décor by Lowenstein in Livingston. 

He attended Weequahic High School, Newark, followed by architectural and interior design studies at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute. 

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. 

He was a member of Green Brook Country Club, North Caldwell, for decades. 

Predeceased by his wife, Gloria (Schnookie), he is survived by three daughters, Debbi (Max) Lebersfeld, Dorrie (Joel) Greenberg, and Margie (Hiland) Snyder; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

Services were held Dec. 10 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Daughters of Israel, West Orange.
