Robert I. Weiss
Robert I. Weiss of Newtown, Pa., died Dec. 10, 2011. Born in Homestead, Pa., he grew up in Uniontown, Pa. He also had lived in Detroit and Yardley, Pa.
Mr. Weiss worked at General Motors as an engineer for more than 40 years. After retirement, he taught at Trenton State College and Drexel University for several years.
He attended Penn State University on a full scholarship, where he studied to be an industrial engineer.
Although exempt from military service because of his work, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and served as an officer for four years, retiring as a captain.
He was a member of Adath Israel Congregation and active in the Trenton community.
He enjoyed golfing, claiming a handicap of 10, and he once hit a hole in one.
Predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Audrey, he is survived by three daughters, Patricia, Susan, and Anne; his son, Frederick; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were held Dec. 13 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Hall, Newtown.
