Robert Allen Bornstein, 73, of Ho-Ho-Kus died Jan. 20, 2016. He was born in Irvington. 

Mr. Bornstein spent many years in the family plumbing business, Bornstein Sons in Newark, which had been started by his grandfather. Some 40 years ago he incorporated his own business, Suburban Plumbing and Heating, with his partner Marvin Rodburg, both Master Plumbers, and serviced many residential and commercial accounts throughout New Jersey until retiring in 2012.

He graduated from Union High School. 

Predeceased by his first wife, Rita Grossman, he is survived by his wife, Cindy Nelson Bornstein; three sons, Jeffrey of Piscataway, Mark of Las Vegas, and Adam (Marcella) of Mt. Laurel; a sister, Elaine Bornstein Cocco of Middletown, Del.; and two grandchildren. 

Services were held Jan. 26 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels, Cedar Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to a cancer charity of your choice.
