Rita Ryer

Rita Ryer, 83, of East Brunswick died Aug. 2, 2012. Born in Boston, she grew up in Brighton Beach, NY and moved to Wappingers Falls, NY, and then New Brunswick before settling in East Brunswick 52 years ago.

Prior to retiring in 1995, Mrs. Ryer was a schoolteacher at Woodland School, Monroe Township, where she worked for 25 years.

She was a congregant of the East Brunswick Jewish Center.

Predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 1997, she is survived by her son, Brad of Cherry Hill; her daughter, Jill Ryder-Powder of Playa del Rey, Calif.; a sister, Frances Magner of Providence, RI; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 5 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, 260 Wall St., Eatontown, NJ 07724.
