Rita Markowitz
Rita Markowitz (Berger), 78, of Westlake Village, Calif., died April 3, 2011. She was born and raised in Newark and raised her family in Paramus before relocating to California in the late 1970s. She also had moved to Las Vegas eight years ago before recently returning to California.
Mrs. Markowitz was the owner, with her son Rick, of The Shoe Revue, a women’s clothing and shoe store.
She attended Weequahic High School in Newark.
She is survived by her husband of almost 59 years, Arnold; four sons, Bruce, Alan, Rick and Todd, all of California; a sister, Marilyn Buckner of New Jersey; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held April 5 with arrangements by Dignity/Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Memorial, Westlake Village.
