Richard Saunders
Richard S. Saunders, 76, of Somerset died July 1, 2012. He grew up in Linden and also had resided in Scotch Plains.
Mr. Saunders was a certified public accountant for more than 50 years, with offices in Clark and Cranford.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served as part of the peacekeeping forces, stationed for two years in Germany.
A member of Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains, he served several years as the congregation’s treasurer. He also supported local community theater groups.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Dinnerman); three daughters, Dana Brenner of Fanwood, Abby Saunders of Westfield, and Lori Jeremias of Scotch Plains; two sons, Russell of Park Ridge and Robert of Westfield; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held July 3 with arrangements by Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
