Richard Salzman, 76, a longtime resident of South Orange, where he was raised, died May 2, 2019.
After exploring circus life, Mr. Salzman worked mainly as a freelance construction contractor and “jack-of-all-trades” repairman.
He studied at Rutgers University.
He is survived by his wife, Debora (Pitman), whom he married in 1988; his son, Nathaniel of Maryland; and two sisters, Nancy Denburg and Linda Gottlieb.
Services were held May 6 with arrangements by Preston’s Funeral Home, South Orange.
