Richard Arthur Pollack, 87, of Santa Monica, Calif., died Nov. 21, 2018. He lived most of his life in Essex County, including in West Orange for 20 years, and in Short Hills before that before moving to Santa Monica 10 years ago.
Before retiring, Mr. Pollack was a partner at the financial firms of Loeb Rhoades and Co., Steinhardt Partners, and Weiss Pollack Capital Management.
He graduated from Brown University and received his M.B.A. from Harvard University. He received an honorary doctorate (L.L.D.) from Bloomfield College, where he served as president of the board of trustees.
He was active in United Jewish Appeal in New Jersey. He was an avid golfer and past member of Mountain Ridge Country Club, West Caldwell.
He is survived by his wife, Rona; two sons, James of San Francisco and Dean of Encino, Calif.; a sister, Judith Verblaauw of Hackettstown; and two
