Richard Cowan
Richard E. Cowan, 90, of Scotch Plains died Feb. 2, 2014. Born in Newark, he resided for a time in Millburn before moving to Scotch Plains 30 years ago.
Mr. Cowan was employed as a manufacturer’s representative for Cowan Sales Co., plumbing supplies, in Roselle Park for over 50 years.
He earned a JD degree.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was an active member of Temple Emanu-El in Westfield, and was also a member of the Masons.
Predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Rayo, and a grandchild, Jordan, he is survived by his wife, Shirley (Kutin); four daughters, Ellen Greenspan of Chantilly, Va., Ann Hantgan of Owings Mills, Md., Mindy Wekselblatt of Long Island, NY, and Julie Garret of Pittsburgh, a brother, Howard of Edison; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 4 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
