Retreat for trans teens
THE SAM & DEVORAH Foundation for Trans Youth is holding a fall retreat in the Berkshires, Sept. 21-23, for trans and gender-expansive teens, ages 12-17. This program is being offered in collaboration with the Trans Youth Equality Foundation.
This retreat will offer an opportunity for transgender and gender non-conforming young adults to regroup for a few days in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. Activities include yoga, rope courses, hiking, campfires, workshops, and support groups.
The Sam & Devorah Foundation for Trans Youth was founded in March 2016 to honor the memory of Sam Harel Price. Its mission is to provide self-validation and acceptance programs for transgender and gender-expansive youth in a caring environment.
Sam Harel Price of Maplewood died in 2016 following a suicide attempt. She was a student at Oberlin College and wanted to become a rabbi.
