Raymond Springberg

Raymond “Ray” Springberg, 80, of Manalapan died Oct. 2, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn. 

Mr. Springberg received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from The Cooper Union in 1960. He worked as a mechanical engineer for 10 years while also attending Seton Hall University, Newark, for five years at night, earning his juris doctorate in 1969. He practiced law in Monmouth County for more than 40 years, combining his expertise in engineering and law to undertake numerous real estate development and construction projects in Monmouth County. 

He had a passion for photography and travel, photographing the faces of the people he encountered throughout his world travels that were later exhibited in Monmouth County libraries. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan; his daughter, Debra (Ricky) Kurzman of Marlboro; his son, David (Justine) of Arlington, Va.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 3 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Continuing Education Fund at Temple Beth Ahm, Aberdeen.
