Rachel Lehr
Rachel Jeanne Lehr, 80, of Princeton died Dec. 29, 2012. She was born in Bayonne and grew up in Teaneck.
As Ms. Lehr raised five children, she earned a BA from Columbia University in 1981 and a JD from Rutgers University, Newark, in 1984.
She began her career as an attorney in 1985 with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. In 1989 she became a Deputy Attorney General for the Division of Law of the Office of the State Attorney General, where she worked until her death.
She is survived by three daughters, Jill (Jonathan) Mohrer, Sandra Goodman (Susan Weil), and Wendy Goodman (Leonard Tesler); two sons, James Goodman (Jennifer McFeely) and Robert Goodman (Deborah Bernstein); a sister, Edith Amsterdam; a brother, Jay Lehr; nine grandchildren; and her ex-husband, Burton Goodman.
Services were held Dec. 31 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation or the Environmental Defense Fund.
