Priscilla Glinn
Priscilla Joyce Glinn (Winn), 73, of East Brunswick died Dec. 2, 2012. Born and raised in the Weequahic section of Newark, she moved to Colonia in 1963.
Mrs. Glinn taught sixth grade in the Woodbridge Township School District for 30 years and was twice named as a Teacher of the Year.
She graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark and received her BA degree and completed post-graduate education from Newark State College.
A community leader, she was the first woman president of Temple Ohev Shalom of Colonia and served multiple terms as its sisterhood president, was president of Congregation Neve Shalom, served multiple terms as president of Hadassah’s Colonia chapter, was the president of National Junior Hadassah, was fund-raising vice president and executive board member of the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, and served as a vice president, chair and board member of these and many other organizations.
Predeceased by her husband, Terry, in 2001, she is survived by three sons, Adam (Elissa) of Edison, Paul (Valerie) of Colonia, and Louis (Sharon) of Highland Park; her daughter, Lesley (Julian) Lewkowicz of East Brunswick; a sister, Ivy Rogoff of Monroe; and 12 grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 4 with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison. Memorial contributions may be made to Colonia Hadassah, Congregation Neve Shalom, or the JCC of Middlesex County.
