Phyllis Weill Forkos
Phyllis Weill Forkos, 56, of Short Hills died Sept. 21, 2010.
Mrs. Forkos worked as an engineer for New Jersey-based companies for several years before joining her father, Raphael Weill, in his company, Interstate Wrecking Company, in Springfield. She eventually became president of the company.
She graduated from Millburn High School and Purdue University, where she received a bachelor of science in engineering and was a member of the Society of Women Engineers.
She joined the Millburn Short Hills First Aid Squad in 1978 and later served as a captain and an instructor. She also served as a member of the Township Planning Board.
Predeceased by her sister, Harriet Rothfeld, she is survived by her husband, Arthur Forkos; a stepson, Jason; her sister, Laura Brown, two nephews, Stephen and Benjamin Rothfeld; and a niece, Millicent Brown.
Services were held Sept. 24, 2010 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millburn-Short Hills First Aid Squad.
