Phyllis Turkus
Phyllis Jean Fischer Turkus, 70, of Livingston died May 19, 2014. She was born in Newark and moved to Livingston shortly after her marriage in 1966 to Samuel Turkus III.
Mrs. Turkus and her husband joined her parents Albert and Naomi Fischer in the specialty advertising business that her father started in the 1940s, Gowi Madison & Company. She worked until near the end of her life at Brown & Bigelow.
She was a member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills and, for many years, National Council of Jewish Women.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her son, Alan; her daughter, Lynn; and three grandchildren.
Services were held May 21 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Cycle for Survival.
