Phyllis A. Karan, 82, of Far Hills died Jan. 29, 2018. Raised in Newark, she moved to Springfield after her marriage and then to Far Hills in 1998. She also maintained a home in Harvey Cedars on Long Beach Island.
Mrs. Karan worked as a psychotherapist for Women Helping Women in Metuchen, as well as in private practice in Summit. She retired approximately 10 years ago.
She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rutgers University in social work.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey; her daughter, Sherrie of Maryland; her son, Scott of Springfield; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 31 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
