Philip Solowey

Philip Solowey, 92, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died May 20, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, he resided for many years in Wanamassa before moving to West Palm Beach about 13 years ago.

Mr. Solowey worked as a senior field service engineer for many years.

He was a longtime member of Temple Beth Torah and its men’s club in Ocean. He was a member of Congregation Anshei Sholom and its choir in West Palm Beach.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Predeceased by his wife, Harriette, in 2002, he is survived by his son, Norman (Deborah) of Berryville, Va.; three daughters, Linda (Nick) Braune of Harlingen, Texas, Carol (Paul) Wasserman of Oakhurst, and Vivian (Harley) Liebenson of Rockville, Md.; a brother, Milton of Boynton Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 22 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
