Pearl Bernice Hoffman Mandel, 97, of Chelsea, Mich., died May 5, 2017. Born in New Rochelle, NY, she also had lived in Short Hills; Whippany; Roslyn, NY; and Brooklyn before moving to Chelsea three years ago.
Mrs. Mandel graduated from Brooklyn College in 1941 with a degree in psychology, and was a book keeper at Manco Watch Strap Company.
She was a longtime member of Congregation B’nai Israel in Millburn.
Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Marvin, in 2004, she is survived by two daughters, Helaine Mandel Hornby (D. Brock Hornby) and Joan Mandel Eisenberg (Steven Eisenberg); a sister, Bertha Witt; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 8 with arrangements by The Dorfman Chapel, Farmington Hills, Mich. Memorial contributions may be made to United Jewish Appeal of Greater MetroWest NJ, Whippany.
