Oscar Gilenson

Oscar Gilenson, 83, of West Orange died Jan. 28, 2011. Born in Newark, he resided in Orange and Union before moving to West Orange over 45 years ago.

Before his retirement in 1991, Mr. Gilenson was the owner/operator of William Gilenson Co., a hardware establishment in Orange and West Orange, for many years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans of Kearny, the Masons in South Orange, the Workmen’s Circle, and the Order of the Golden Chain.

Predeceased by his wife, Bernice, he is survived by two daughters, Miriam Cohen of Livingston and Lisa Lehroff of Maryland; his son, David of Morristown; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 30 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
