Normand Hornstein, 97, of Livingston died March 19, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, he spent the majority of his adult life in Queens before moving to Livingston in 1998.
Mr. Hornstein was an investigator for the New York State Racing Commission.
He served in the Army Combat Infantry Unit as a rifleman in World War II in the Pacific, for which he received a Bronze Star.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sylvia; his son, Harold (Cindy); his daughter, Ellen (Eric) Schwartz; and four grandchildren.
Services were held March 21 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation.
