Norman Scheckner
Norman S. Scheckner, 78, of Monroe Township died Jan. 25, 2013. Born in Newark, he was raised in South Plainfield before moving to Edison for many years and then to Monroe three years ago.
Mr. Scheckner was a self-employed television repairman for many years, retiring in 2009.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957.
He was a former member of Temple Emanu-El in Edison.
He enjoyed flying model airplanes and was an avid chess player.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce (Olshan); two sons, Craig (Debbie) and Brian (Heather); a sister, Millicent (Milli) Shapiro; and four grandsons.
Services were held Jan. 27 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
