No common sense
How can a member of No Red Tape, “a student group fighting sexual violence,” possibly rationalize joining forces with the BDS movement? (“The anti-Israel trend you’ve never heard of,” Jan. 20) Don’t they have enough to keep them busy — chasing after the perpetrators of sexual violence e.g., human trafficking, forced marriage, genital mutilation, and the honor killing of victims of rape — than to get on the bandwagon to deride and ridicule Israel?
I suspect that it may be easier and safer for NRT proponents to join a BDS protest against Israel on campus than to go into Saudi Arabia or Gaza or Nigeria to protest the sexual violence prevalent in those regions.
