New traditions
With special thanks to Johanna Ginsberg for her article, “New moms group focuses on instincts” (Feb. 23), we are writing to acknowledge the active collaboration which JFS has enjoyed with the Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life and in particular the ongoing support of Joan Bronspiegel Dickman, the director of Early Childhood Services at the Partnership. Joan helps to promote the availability of JFS First STEPS programming and also served as a facilitator for two sessions of the recent JFS New Moms group; one introducing the PJ Library program as part of the session which focused on sleep and nighttime rituals and the other involving sharing the holiday of Hanukka as a family and starting new traditions. JFS is pleased to be extending its child and adolescent services to now include babies and their parents and is most grateful for the collaboration of the Partnership in helping to nurture the Jewish identity development of the youngest members of our community.
