Neil Bergman

Neil J. Bergman, 69, of Cranford, died June 5, 2018. He was born in the Bronx. 

Dr. Bergman was a licensed psychologist in private practice in both Springfield and Bergen County for more than 35 years and was a clinical supervisor at High Focus Centers.

He graduated from Baruch College, where he earned his undergraduate degree in psychology and delivered the salutatory address at his graduation. He received his master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State College and his Ph.D. from New York University. 

He had a lifelong interest in photography, and pursued his hobby intently in recent years, travelling to photograph scenery and architecture, including the old Yankee Stadium.

He was a member of Temple Sha’arey Shalom of Springfield.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Andrea “Andi” Lerner Bergman; his son, Matthew of New York City; and two brothers, Stuart (Stu) of Ithaca, N.Y., and Charles (Charlie) of Westfield.

Services were held June 10 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
