Naomi L. Stein, 94, of Bradley Beach died March 7, 2019. Born in Brooklyn, she moved to Elizabeth at the age of 12 and summered in Bradley Beach, where she moved permanently in 1988.
Mrs. Stein graduated from Newark College of Engineering in 1945.
Active in the Jewish community, she served as president of Hadassah and the sisterhood of Temple B’nai Israel, and was awarded the title of Mrs. UJA for NJ. Over many years she received numerous other awards for her charitable work.
Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ted (Alvin J.), in 2006, she is survived by her daughter, Sandra Stein (Ed) Knaster of Bradley Beach; her son, Jeffrey (Denise Waxman); and two granddaughters.
Services were held March 10 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
