Myra Turkel Peterson, 73, of Scotch Plains died April 9, 2015. Born in Newark, she was raised in Union and was a longtime resident of Harrington Park before moving to Scotch Plains several years ago.
Mrs. Peterson had a career as an attorney, culminating in her election to chair of the Family Law Section of the NJ Bar Association.
She graduated from Rutgers Law School.
She spent time with neighborhood children doing arts and crafts projects. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and the New York Times crossword puzzle.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford; two sons, Jonathan (Alexis) and Jared (Xiaxia); two sisters, Rita Selesner and Jane Rosenthal; and three grandchildren.
Services were held April 13. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Atlantic Home Care and Hospice, 465 South St., Morristown, NJ 07960.
