Morton Weinstein
Morton Stanley Weinstein of Mountainside died Dec. 5, 2018. He was born in Newark.
Dr. Weinstein was a dentist with a practice in Iselin.
He graduated from Weequahic High School, Newark, in 1949. He graduated from University of Pennsylvania, where he was a fraternity member of Alpha Epsilon Pi and sub-matriculated into Penn’s School of Dentistry.
He was a lieutenant officer in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the Mediterranean on the USS Monrovia.
He spent summers at Bradley Beach and later at Long Beach Island. He was engaged in the community, joining B’nai B’rith leadership and the board of Jewish Family Services and cofounding The August Symphony Orchestra.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; three children, Ellen, Michael, and Eric and their spouses; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 9 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Family Service of Central NJ.
