Morton Parish
Morton “Morty” Parish of Summit died Dec. 28, 2012. Born in Staten Island, he grew up in Bayonne and lived in Jersey City before moving to Springfield for 56 years and then Summit three years ago.
Mr. Parish was a Certified Public Accountant with a private practice for over 50 years, over 40 of them in Millburn followed by 10 in Springfield, before retiring in 2000.
He held a BA in accounting from Pace University in New York City.
He served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps, achieving the rank of captain.
He was a member of Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael and its men’s club for over 50 years, B’nai B’rith of Springfield, and the Azure Masada Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. He had also been a Boy Scout in Bayonne.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; his daughter, Shelley Nord of Hillsborough; his son, Edward of North Reading, Mass.; and a granddaughter.
Services were held Dec. 31 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
