Morton Kobrin
Morton Kobrin, 82, of Monroe Township died June 6, 2018. Born in Massachusetts, he grew up in Wareham, Mass., moving to New Jersey in 2006.
Mr. Kobrin opened Star Jewelers, a retail shop in Wareham, moving it to Pocasset, Mass., in 1992, which he ran until his retirement.
He graduated from Northeastern University.
He was a member of the Freemasons and a docent at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
He was a member of Tifereth Israel Congregation in New Bedford for 35 years until moving to New Jersey, where he became a member of Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor.
He was an avid tennis player.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sonia; his son, Lewis; his daughter, Leslie; a brother, Alvin; a sister, Ruth Glaser; and two grandchildren.
Services were held June 8 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
