Morris Pajonk

Morris Pajonk, 98, of Fairfield died Oct. 19, 2011. He was born in Jersey City, grew up in Union City, and resided in North Bergen and Fort Lee after his marriage.

Mr. Pajonk was an attorney who began practicing law in Union City and later opened a law office in Ridgefield with his son, Arthur. Having been admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1935, he practiced law for over 70 years. During this period, he served as president of the North Hudson Lawyers Club.

He was very active in Temple Beth Abraham in North Bergen, where he served as its president. He was also an active member of B’nai B’rith, serving as Anti-Defamation League chairman for many years.

Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Esther, he is survived by his son, Arthur of West Caldwell; his daughter, Anne Leeds of Livingston; a sister, Helen Grumer of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 23 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
