Morris Fruchter
Morris “Moe” Fruchter, 97, of Maplewood, formerly of Millburn, died May 28, 2014. He was born in Newark and also had lived in Hillside.
Mr. Fruchter and his wife Pearl founded the company that became Eagle Work Clothes of Union in 1946; he continued to work there until the end of his life.
He attended Central High School in Newark.
During World War II, he served as a production supervisor at the top-secret Norden bombsight.
He was president of the Men’s Progress Club in Hillside.
Predeceased by his wife of 59 years in 1998, he is survived by two sons, Charles (Naomi) of Livingston and Dennis (Holly) of Florham Park, and four grandchildren.
Services were held May 29 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
