Moral relativism

Phyllis Bernstein’s terminology “violence by Palestinian and Israeli settlers” (Letters to the editor, Oct. 29) is both erroneous and offensive in the extreme. It is an example of the worst type of moral relativism.

What she is referring to is a few Israeli crackpots versus a world-wide army of Islamic radicals. Long before they were known as “Palestinians,” these hate-filled terrorists waged a war against Jews. As for the use of the word “settlers,” UN Resolution 242 legitimizes the presence of Jews in the West Bank pending the conclusion of a final agreement.
