Monroe Bierman, 88, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Livingston died April 15, 2019.
Mr. Bierman owned Fitrite Fashions in Newark, and served as president of the Springfield Avenue Merchants Association for many years.
He graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark in 1948, and from Rutgers University’s Business School in 1952.
He served as a sergeant in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbi Fechtner Bierman; two daughters, Amie (Steven) and Heidi (Michael); his son, David (Elyse); a sister, Beverly Albert of New York City; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held April 18 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
