Monroe Barry Nestler
Monroe Barry Nestler, 82, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and West Orange died April 27, 2011. Born in Elizabeth, he previously resided in Newark, Union, and Mountainside.
Mr. Nestler was the director of guidance for the Union County Regional High School Board of Education, David Brearley High School, Kenilworth.
He received a BA degree from Rutgers University. He also received an MA in student personnel services and a doctoral equivalency in administration and supervision from Seton Hall University.
He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan.
He was a former president of the Union County Personnel and Guidance Association and a former member of Temple Emanu-El in Westfield for over 25 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans, both of Mountainside.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Zimmerman); his daughter, Susan Wohlgemuth of Springfield; his son, Gary of New York City; and four grandchildren.
Services were held April 29 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
