Molly Meezan

Molly Meezan, 89, of West Orange died July 1, 2012. Born in New York City, she resided in Brooklyn and Queens before moving to Irvington in 1999.

During World War II, Ms. Meezan was recruited as a decoder in Washington, DC. She spent the rest of her career as a bookkeeper for Associated Recording Studios, New York’s first independent recording studio, where she worked with recording artists such as Dionne Warwick and Barry Manilow.

She graduated with a major in classics from Brooklyn College in 1943.

Predeceased by four sisters, Stella Meezan, Rachel Rabinowitz, Ida Erikson, and Esther Schnapf, she is survived by five nieces, Serena Rosenbaum, Rhea Smith, Susan Schnapf, Deborah Schnapf, and Alice King; and two nephews, Joshua Rabinowitz and David Schnapf.

Services were held July 5 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
