Miriam Shein
Miriam “Mimi” Shein (Jaffe), 95, of Metuchen died Jan. 22, 2019. She was born in the Bronx.
Mrs. Shein worked as a bookkeeper from World War II until well into her 80s.
A longtime member of Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth, she was active in local theater, starring in many productions in East Brunswick and Highland Park. She also played golf well into her 90s.
Predeceased by her husband, Hartley Shein, and her late-life companion, Sidney Schiffman, she is survived by her son, Bruce Nadler of Highland Park, and her daughter, Sally Nadler of Piscataway.
Services were held Jan. 24 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth or the Parker Adult Day Center, Highland Park.
