Miriam Miller

Miriam (Mimi) Turteltaub Miller, 91, of South Orange died April 21, 2016. A lifelong New Jersey resident, she grew up in West Orange, moving to South Orange 55 years ago. 

Mrs. Miller graduated from West Orange High School and attended Wellesley College, where she majored in English and botany. She earned her law degree from Rutgers School of Law, and practiced family law before becoming an assistant dean at Rutgers Law School. 

Through her 80s, she was an active member of a number of charitable organizations, including the United Way, a variety of interfaith commissions, and EIES of New Jersey, where she read and recorded The New York Times for the visually impaired. 

She is survived by three daughters, Ellen Miller, Gail Miller, and Sara (Hugh) Bleemer; her son, Theodore (Liz); a sister, Joan Rosenbaum; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

A memorial gathering was held April 24; arrangements were handled by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to EIES of New Jersey, South Orange.
