Mildred Kaplan
Mildred Kaplan (Shindler), 90, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Dec. 31, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Chicago and Memphis, Tenn., but mostly in West Orange, where she raised her family. She moved to West Palm Beach 25 years ago.
Mrs. Kaplan spent part of her working career in retail sales.
She was very active in the sisterhood at the Jewish Center of West Orange. In Florida she became involved with Hadassah, serving as president of the West Palm Beach chapter.
Predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Emanuel, a son, Paul, and a grandson, Scott H. Kaplan, she is survived by a son, Marc J. (Ellen) of Verona; her daughter, Carole (Howard) Nemiroff of Basking Ridge; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 5 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Scott H. Kaplan ’02 Art Gallery at Bloomfield College, 68 Oakland Ave., Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
