Mildred K. Underwood, 95, of Boca Raton, Fla., died Feb. 8, 2017. Born and raised in Jersey City, she lived in Belleville from 1947 to the mid-1970s, and then in Monroe Township — dividing her time between New Jersey and Florida — before moving to Boca Raton two years ago.
She received her A.B. in 1940 from New Jersey College for Women (now Douglass College of Rutgers University).
She performed for many years in shows staged by synagogue and community groups and square-danced on the Great Wall of China.
Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert, she is survived by three daughters, Barbara D. Underwood of Brooklyn, Judy K. Underwood of Fort Collins, Colo.; and Suzy Underwood of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private services were held in Florida. Memorial contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood or HIAS.
