Mildred Boxer (Blum), 92, of Metuchen died July 6, 2011. She was born and raised in Bayonne.
At the age of 61, Mrs. Boxer graduated from Douglass College with a BA.
She was a founding member of Neve Shalom in Metuchen and was very active in the early growth of the congregation. She was a member of the sisterhood and headed the committee for the installation of the sanctuary’s stained-glass windows.
Predeceased by her son, Robert, in 2005, she is survived by her husband of 69 years, Leon; two sons, Keith and Michael; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held July 10 with arrangements by Flynn and Son Funeral Home, Metuchen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
