Michael Gross

Michael Samuel Gross, 72, of Rockaway died March 28, 2012. Born in Newark, he also lived in Hillside, Parsippany, and Montville before moving to Rockaway nine years ago.

Mr. Gross was the owner of MBD Inspect Floors for 20 years.

He attended Weequahic High School, Newark, and graduated from West Orange High School. He also attended Seton Hall University and Monmouth College.

An avid biker, he organized the road rides for Cyclecraft of Parsippany for many years. He ran the New York City marathon nine times and was an active member of the New York Runner’s Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Josephs Gross; his daughter, Karen Gross of Phoenix, Ariz.; his son, David of Los Angeles; a sister, Anita Bergan of Tinton Falls, three stepchildren, Matthew Josephs of Arnold, Md., Rick Josephs of Rockaway, and Lauren Josephs of Summit; and two grandchildren.

Services were held April 1 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
