Michael Braurman of Flanders died June 5, 2015. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, he lived in Siberia and then again in Baku before immigrating to the United States in 1993. He lived in Elizabeth for one year before moving to Hillside and then to Flanders in 2001.
Mr. Braurman was a graduate electronic engineer for over 40 years in the former Soviet Union before retiring.
He served during World War II in the Soviet Defense Forces and received the Defense Labor Medal.
He became a U.S. citizen in 2000.
He is survived by his son, Alexander (Olga); his daughter, Liliya (Boris) Colotov of Ashkelon, Israel; a brother, Yaacov of Springfield; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 8 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
