Max Pilger

Max Pilger, 94, of Monroe Township died March 17, 2017. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he lived in Elizabeth and Springfield before moving to Monroe over 20 years ago. 

Mr. Pilger was the owner and operator of Monarch Electrical Supply in Newark and then in Fairfield for many years. 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in World War II. 

Predeceased by his wife, Doris (Haftel), he is survived by his daughter, Sharon (David) Weimer of Aberdeen; his son, Bruce (Lynne) of Roseland; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his companion, Ivy Farben of Monroe. 

Services were held March 19 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
